VicSRC Executive

The VicSRC Executive is the body of student representatives who are elected annually to govern the VicSRC. Their job is to represent what is actually being said by students via Student Councils across Victoria and to manage the organisation’s implementation of initiatives identified by students at the annual VicSRC Congress.

We need YOU! 

As a member of the VicSRC Executive team you will be an active part of:

Leadership and governance of VicSRC

  • Determine, review and maintain the vision, purpose and values of the VicSRC

  • Make important decisions about the direction and future of the organisation

  • Approval of short term and long term strategies

  • Approve VicSRC staff report monthly

  • Consider risks to the organisation

  • Appoint VicSRC staff by sitting on interview panels

Advocacy and representation

  • Consult with students by talking to students about their views and ideas

  • Promote and represent student voice at all levels of decision making including your school, community and at a state level.

  • Developing and advocating for the priorities passed at Congress

  • Attending VicSRC events

  • Support engagement with key stakeholders

  • Represent the organisation and its key messages in multiple forums


  • Help oversee state-wide projects and planning for state-wide events like the VicSRC Congress, VicSRC Regional conferences, Teach the teacher and Recognition Awards

  • Organising Congress and leading Action Teams

How do I nominate?

If you are interested in being on the student Executive following the next Congress, you need to:

  1. Complete the VicSRC Executive Nomination Form via SurveyMonkey by the appropriate date announced each year.

  2. Familiarise yourself with the VicSRC Executive Nomination Process

    • Delegates attending Congress should use these guidelines to nominate and prepare your 50-second speech

    • Students not attending Congress should use these guidelines to nominate and submit your 50-second video 

What is the voting process?

Voting takes place at Congress. Following the nomination speeches and videos, the student delegates at Congress cast their votes. 15 students are elected to be on the Executive each year.
