VicSRC is growing!
We have not one, not two, but three new team members at VicSRC HQ!
Not too long ago, VicSRC was a one-staff-member-15-Exec-member team. As VicSRC's grown, to too has our team - and we are super excited about the latest legendary additions.
We're thrilled to introduce our new Student & Administration Assistant, Aisha Trambas, who will be supporting our incoming Executive Officer and our Student Exec team. Aisha is studying Indigenous Studies and Anthropology at the University of Melbourne.
Aisha's been juggling multiple volunteer roles with her study, including a community engagement role at the Asylum Seekers Resource Centre, Youth Action Project advocacy network, and she is a member of multiple collectives on campus including people of colour, women of colour and the media collective at Melbourne Uni.
Alongside Aisha, VicSRC is also saying a great big hello to some familiar faces from the VicSRC family! We are beyond excited to introduce our very first VicSRC Casual Facilitators, working on Teach the Teacher and the Student Voice Workshops.
It's a big welcome back to long-time friend, volunteer and colleague of YACVic and VicSRC - Pinchy Breheny! Pinchy is re-joining the VicSRC team as a VicSRC Facilitator. Pinchy will be leading the training and delivery around the VicSRC Teach the Teacher program. Pinchy has experience, expertise, and passion for working with young people, as seen in Pinchy’s work with VicSRC, YACVic, the Reach Foundation, and Brimbank City Council. We have always loved Pinchy’s approachable facilitation style and it’s going to be so great to have Pinchy on team Teach the Teacher moving forward.
Joining Pinchy is Matty Sievers as one of our new VicSRC Facilitators. He was a member of the VicSRC Student Executive team in 2015 – 2016 and last year finished Year 12 at Bendigo Senior Secondary College. In his spare time he volunteers as a music journalist for the website Kill Your Stereo. He has plenty of experience as a facilitator through his work as a Youth Ambassadors of the Macedon Ranges Shire and through VicSRC events and activities. He is a passionate facilitator and advocate for student voice. Matty will kick start his new journey with VicSRC by co-facilitating our Student Voice Workshops happening over the next few months.
We can't wait to share our new VicSRC journey with you. This is going to be fun!
