Fifteen years of

Congress may look a little different this year, but it will still be an explosion of student voice!

What we do

Training & Workshops

We deliver training and workshops to support students to be active decision makers in education, and build the capacity of adults to work in partnership with students.

Our annual events bring together students, school staff and the wider community to build and celebrate student voice.

VicSRC's advocacy priorities are designed by students each year, and are underpinned by our Policy Platform.

A student-focused education system

We work alongside Victorian students to create a student-focused education system that treats young people as the experts in their own education.

Partnering with schools

Our Partner Schools are a connected community committed to a student-focused education system.

Our programs and events

Congress is VicSRC's flagship student-led event which generally takes place each year over 3 days in the July school holidays. Students from across Victoria come together to plan action that will help solve the top issues in the education system, as voted by students.

ALTER is a series of two interactive workshops, co-facilitated by secondary students and VicSRC staff. It brings students from schools in a local area together in a unique learning space to lead positive collaborative change at school using VicSRC's ALTER Model of Student-Led Action.

Teach the Teacher

Designed by students, the Teach the Teacher program is a student-led professional development program for teachers that enables students to address issues affecting them. By giving students a greater say in their education, Teach the Teacher aims to create an inclusive culture where everyone's voices are equally heard.

Student Voice Awards

The annual VicSRC Student Voice Awards recognise and celebrate student-led initiatives and best practice student voice in schools. Held in October each year, nominees submit a two-minute video which is shown on the night, as well as a written application.

Check out our student-led space

The Student Voice Hub is a place where students can come together to collaborate, get resources and talk about what's happening in other schools around the state with regards to student voice.
