The Victorian Student Representative Council’s 7th annual Congress will be held on August 3rd -5th 2012 at Oasis Campsite in Mt Evelyn. Congress is organised and run by the VicSRC Student Executive, with support from the VicSRC Coordinator, providing an opportunity for secondary school students from around Victoria to meet and discuss issues and concerns that are important to them and their schools. Congress is also an opportunity to have fun and to meet fellow students who are passionate about having a say and making a difference in their schools and communities.

This exciting event is the primary decision making event for the VicSRC where decisions are made democratically about what issues and projects the VicSRC tackles for the year ahead. Each day, Congress members will participate in a formal parliamentary-style Congress, where proposals are put forward, discussed, amended and voted upon. Decisions made at Congress then form the basis of the work of the VicSRC Student Executive for the following year. Really want to step up and take action around key education issues and the way schools operate in Victoria? 

 

Then come along to Congress and nominate to be part of the VicSRC Student Executive. The VicSRC Executive are the student representatives, elected annually, that govern the VicSRC. Their job is to represent what is actually being said via student councils across the State.

If you and your school are interested in representing your school community at a state level, take part in Congress 2012.
