Do you want to make meaningful change in your school?
Do you want the tools necessary to identify the issues affecting your community and the allies to tackle them?
VicSRC Student Voice Workshops (formerly Regional Conferences) enable students, teachers and principals to work together on common issues and drive positive change in schools, communities and the education system.
Delivered in partnership with Bastow Institute of Educational Leadership, this series of workshops ensure students are consulted and heard on the issues that matter in their education, no matter their location.
We’re bringing educational leaders – students, teachers and principals – together in this unique learning space to collaborate, co-create and spark practical strategies to transform their schools and learning environments.
Students are more engaged in education when they're involved in shaping their experience. But the reality is that students aren't always given say in what happens at school or in their education. Creating spaces for students and teachers to meet, co-create and realise how much they have in common is empowering for all involved.
VicSRC is hitting the road and travelling across the state! No matter where you're from this is your chance to get involved, get your voice heard and explore the best strategies for making change in your community.
What is a Student Voice Workshop?
Student Voice Workshops help you to work collaboratively to tackle the how of student voice and agency. During workshops participants collaborate, co-create and spark practical strategies to transform their schools and learning environments. Student Voice Workshops give every Victorian student a chance to explore how to use their voice for positive change in their community.
But I’ve already been to a Student Voice Workshop! Great! We’d love to have you back! We want to hear what worked for you and what didn’t, get a look at what you’ve achieved, share your success with newcomers and get fresh eyes on the issues you’ve identified!
But I’ve never been to a Student Voice Workshop/VicSRC event/I don’t know what student voice is! Also great! Student Voice Workshops are designed for everyone! We’ll be running you through the process from start to finish and giving you the tools you need to make positive, solutions based change in your school community!
What about teachers? VicSRC will also offer a teacher PD session to explore strategies to engage and support student voice and advice on how to take it to the next level at your school.
Keen to get involved? The greatest! We’re still confirming our 2019 dates and locations but we'll have them up ASAP so you can get stuck into booking!
Suitable for all school leaders (students, teachers and principals) who want their voices heard.
