In 2018 the theme of the VicSRC Student Voice Workshops (SVW’s) will be ‘COLLABORATION’!
We will be working with students to:
· Help them consider areas of action they could take in their capacity as
Student Representative Council Members or in other Student Leadership/Student
· Present the ALTER model of planning, action and reflection as featured in the 2017 SVW’s
· Explore the idea of ‘allies’ – who can help them amongst the student body, teachers and
other schools staff, parents/carers and the broader community
· Help them devise a campaign to promote and achieve their action within the school
The idea of consensus leadership and decision making will feature throughout the day with team activities and games helping students to explore how they can make decisions which involve as many people as possible and benefit the whole school.

Have we missed your region and you're keen to attend a Student Voice Workshop? Express your interest in terms 3 & 4 Student Voice Workshops by emailing with your school name and workshop location you are interested in.
VicSRC Student Voice Workshops (formerly Regional Conferences) enable students, teachers and principals to work together on common issues and drive positive change in schools, communities and the education system.
Delivered in partnership with Bastow Institute of Educational Leadership, this series of one-day (secondary) or half-day (primary) conferences ensure students are consulted and heard on the issues that matter to their education, no matter their location.
We’re bringing educational leaders – students, teachers and principals – together in this unique learning space to collaborate, co-create and spark practical strategies to transform their schools and learning environments.
Students are more engaged in their school education when they are involved in shaping their experience. However, the reality is that students are not often given a say in what happens at school or in their education. Creating spaces for students and teachers to meet, co-create and realise how much they have in common is highly empowering for all involved.
VicSRC is hitting the road and journeying across the state! No matter where you're from this is your chance to get involved, get your voice heard and explore the best strategies for making a change in your community.
What is a Student Voice Workshop?
Student Voice Workshops help you to work collaboratively to tackle the how of student voice and agency. During workshops participants collaborate, co-create and spark practical strategies to transform their schools and learning environments. Student Voice Workshops give every Victorian student a chance to explore how to use their voice for positive change in their community.
What's different this year?
The 2018 SVW's will offer separate Primary School and Secondary School sessions.
A day long Secondary School workshop and a half day Primary School workshop will be offered in the same region/area. By offering specific Primary and Secondary session, the workshops will allow groups to focus on specific topics, situations and structures relevant to their school level.
What about teachers?
VicSRC will also offer a teacher PD session to explore strategies to engage and support student voice and advice on how to take it to the next level at your school.
After the Term 1 & 2 workshops, we'll come back in Term 3 & 4! We'll check in, share the actions schools have taken, changes schools have made and provide new strategies and resources for ongoing change.
Suitable for all school leaders (students, teachers and principals) who want their voices heard.
